First of all Why do we have Admins, Gmods and Mods Apart from main admin, all the other groups are really just titles, each group can do whatever you allow them to, You should be very careful about who you give the powers to, make sure you can trust them. The general way to organise staff is set out below. Main Admin is totally responsible for the board and controls the staff and members. also should be the ONLY one who adjusts the main board settings (headers/footers, etc) 2nd Admin is the Admins assistant with nearly the same powers, so promoting someone to this position should be done with caution, best to use a personal friend if possible, not someone who pesters you. Responible for stopping problems reported to them, trusted admins should be able to ban members etc Gmods, similar to mods (described below) but moderate the whole site, and check that the Mods are doing their job, normally they should report to 2nd Admins. Mods, selected to moderate each board, and will only appear as a mod in those boards (unless modified), but could have their names a different color (green) so they are easily identified elsewhere. Responsible for the correct operation of their individual board(s), and should be able to lock posts etc, to stop problems with members, they should report to Gmods. If you delete staff members, DEMOTE THEM FIRSTWARNING ANY staff (including Mods) who break Terms Of Service May get your board deleted Without Warning

In admin panel: Modify Groups > select colour etc > continue > I would suggest setting all as i have posted, at least to start with. You can promote each group accordingly when you trust them. If you trust one admin enough to allow them to do your headers and footers, you can make a 'Coding admin' group, though i would suggest only putting that admin in the code admin group ONLY when you want headers changed, then move them back. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Power | Moderators | Global Mods | Admins | Bump Threads | YES | YES | YES | Make Announcements | NO | NO | YES | Sticky Threads | NO | YES | YES | Move Threads | YES | YES | YES | Delete Threads | NO | NO | YES | Delete Posts | NO | NO | YES | Modify Posts | YES | YES | YES | Lock Threads | YES | YES | YES | Reply To Locked Threads | YES | YES | YES | Lock Polls | YES | YES | YES | Afvanced Moderation | YES | YES | YES | View Poll Voters | YES | YES | YES | View IPs | NO | YES | YES | ------------------- | --------------- | --------------- | --------------- | Manage Boards | | NO | NO | Manage Categories | | NO | NO | Fix Boards | | YES | YES | Recount Members | | NO | YES | Mofify Avatars | | NO | YES | General Settings | | NO | NO | Headers and Footers | | NO | NO | Modify News | | NO | YES | Manage Skins | | NO | NO | Ban Members | | NO | YES | Approve Members | | NO | NO | Email All | | NO | NO | Modify Ranks | | NO | NO | Search Members | | YES | YES | Delete Old Posts | | NO | NO | Delete Posts by User | | NO | NO | Modify Censored Words | | NO | YES | Modify Reserved Names | | NO | NO | Create Accounts | | NO | NO | Delete Users | | NO | NO | Edit Profiles | | NO | YES | See invisible Users | | YES | YES | View Hidden Emails | | YES | YES | View Hidden Birthdays | | YES | YES | Delete Calendar Entrues | | NO | YES | Modify Calendar Entries | | NO | YES | Critical Admin Powers | --------------- | --------------- | --------------- | Manage Ad-Free | | NO | NO | Manage Attachments | | NO | NO | Assign Member Groups | | NO | YES |

Changing name colours of your Staff: *Note that this is a Main Admin (site owner) only ability. In your Admin panel under Member Groups, select Modify Group. Select the group you wish to colour, then continue to the next page. The third input box down, "Group Color:" is where you can add your chosen group colour. This needs to be a six digit hex colour - ProBoards no longer carries the function of recognizing words as colours in the CSS. When you've edited the group colour to your liking, press Continue, then scroll down to Modify Group. Here is a colour chart for you to chose your colours fromFor further name styles, please go to the Proboards Support FAQ and follow the instructions for your selected style. Staff hierarchy
